JOB PURPOSE and FUNCTION:

Efficiently pick customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Carry or transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

▪ Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment

▪ Read work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignment

▪ Maintain facilities and work areas in a safe and clean manner

▪ Follow directions from lead and management team on daily requirements

▪ Other duties as assigned and may consist of assisting a peer department, to include but not limited to, assisting in the following departments: mailing, specialty bindery, fulfillment, specialty finishing and bindery

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

▪ Demonstrate a flexible, helpful, and proactive and positive approach to work and solve problems

▪ Demonstrate effective memory skills; good hand eye coordination; dependability, ability to follow directions & a strong willingness to learn

▪ Ability to do basic math

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

▪ High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

MINIMUM YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

▪ One (1) year of shipping experience is not required but is preferred

SHOP:

▪ Activity: Standing up to 8 hours per day with the ability to walk, touch and climb at any point throughout the day. Some equipment requires the ability to walk narrow ramps and reach to adjust function. Ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 30 lbs occasionally

▪ Work Environment: Heeter maintains a safe and clean front office environment

▪ Noise: In a manufacturing role, moderately loud noise is a constant

▪ Visual Acuity: Ability to read and distinguish small print, depth perception, color perception

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
