Position Summary

We are hiring an experienced professional to join our team at the Davis-Besse Power Plant. The Organizational Effectiveness/Regulatory Compliance staff member supports the site Management and Senior Leadership Teams in formulation and implementation of solutions to performance gaps, including identifying CAP, HU, and PI related actions. Additionally, interfaces directly with external stakeholders (e.g. CNRB, INPO, NRC) on matters related to corrective action program, self-assessment and benchmarking, human performance and continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Proactively manage organizational and programmatic issues, performance improvement tools, performance data, and root cause analyses to identify performance gaps.
  • Provide coaching, support and guidance around organizational effectiveness and performance improvement to site Managers, including providing observations and mentoring of section individuals responsible for performance improvement activities to improve the culture as needed.
  • Provide challenge and insight to ensure that the performance improvement model is used effectively to monitor, analyze, and fix opportunities for improvement during performance improvement meetings.
  • Directly and through site teams analyze site performance data and adverse trends using observations, CAP, self-assessment, benchmarking, and performance indicator data appropriately to resolve or achieve opportunities for improvement through Integrated Performance Assessment and Trending.
  • Perform responsibilities within the Corrective Action Program to include Condition Report Program Administrator and Corrective Action Review Board Administrator
  • Initiate pre-inspection self-assessment activities associated with NRC Inspection preparations.
  • Participate in the Industry working groups to include occasional travel to related conferences/meetings
  • Support Emergency Response routine activities such as facility readiness and upkeep, drill controller duties etc.
  • Participate and provide support to Regulatory Compliance and Performance Improvement peer team
  • Performs a daily review and evaluation of all condition reports to determine reportability and to identify issues of potential regulatory significance. Also, ensures appropriate actions are taken to address noncompliance
  • Prepares the regulatory Compliance input for the Monthly Performance Review, including cross-cutting aspect information, information on substantive cross-cutting issues, and any developing themes in these areas. The individual works with the Manager to develop plans to address the shortfalls (i.e., gap closure plans).


QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years technical experience (Preferably in a nuclear power plant)
  • BS Engineering or equivalent Advance Technical degree preferred
  • Minimum of four years of demonstrated experience in utilizing some aspects of the Learning Programs.
  • Previous SRO license/certification favorable
  • Previous Nuclear utility leadership, supervisory, or managerial experience with demonstrated understanding of organizational effectiveness concepts and the ability to develop insights and develop solutions around performance drivers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of INPO Conduct of Performance Improvement, 14-004
  • Knowledge and experience using CAP and DevonWay software application
  • Familiarity with 10CFR50 Appendix B and INPO performance objectives and criteria
  • Experience with PI processes (Self-assessments, benchmarking, CAP, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of the Corrective Action Program and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills to provide oversight in planning/developing and implementing change management for program changes.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
