Outreach Coordinator – Howard County

Description

Building Families for Children, Inc. (BFC) of Columbia, Maryland, a faith-based nonprofit agency, is looking for a contractor to work approximately 15 hours per week as an Outreach Coordinator in Howard County, Maryland.

The Outreach Coordinator will establish new partnerships with Howard County faith groups, cultural groups, and community organizations on behalf of the Safe Families for Children™ program as well as BFC as a whole. These partnerships will build a bigger base of support for those we serve but also increase the number of families we serve via referrals from these community partners.

Safe Families for Children™ is a network of Christian families that extends the community safety net by providing parents in need with a loving sanctuary for their children in time of crisis.

This is a grant-funded contract position with no guarantee of renewal beyond December 2023.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience. Experience with community outreach in a faith-based environment preferred. Prior knowledge of Howard County specific resources is strongly preferred.

The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for identifying potential partners in Howard County, developing relationships and formal partnerships with these groups, and tracking outcomes related to increasing partnerships.

Applicants must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours, with a combination of the work being completed in the community, from the BFC office, and at home via telework. Applicants must have reliable transportation and be compatible with a faith-based approach and environment.
