Job Summary
Join our team of Student Workers within the Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Prevention & Control (IDEPC) Division as a key part of the statewide public health system, dedicated to MDH’s mission: protecting, maintaining and improving the health of all Minnesotans. As a Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC) Operations Student Worker, you will assist the unit with responding to and processing MIIC requests from the public, data entry, data management, survey development and administration, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, program evaluation, quality improvement activities, or development of educational materials for a broad audience, in addition to supporting the general functions of the section.
This announcement will be used to fill three (3) vacancies; these are hybrid telework positions that will require in-person meetings as well as in-office work in the downtown St. Paul location
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Completion of two years of post-secondary education
Student Worker Eligibility: To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior you must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program or plan to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as a student worker, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. If you are enrolled at a credit-granting institution you must carry at least six semester/nine quarter credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, you must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load will be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Current or incoming graduate student
Demonstrated interest in disease prevention (e.g. public health, immunization, health care, maternal and child health, health promotion)
Strong customer service skills
Attention to detail
Data entry experience
Data management experience
Qualitative or quantitative data analysis experience
Ability to use computer databases in order to perform data entry and summary reports
Microsoft Office Suite experience
REDCap experience
Statistical analysis software experience (R)
Data Visualization experience (Tableau, PowerBI, Datawrapper)
Survey experience (development, planning, implementation, and/or analysis)
Evaluation experience (methods, planning, developing, and implementation)
