Part Time Staff Collaborative Accompanist
Job description
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
- Must be a Christian and a member of a church that holds to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in the New and Old Testaments of the Holy Bible.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
- Assisting vocal division faculty and students
- Providing collaborative pianist services for private lessons
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance, Pedagogy or a music degree with a Piano Concentration or
- Exceptional experience in accompanying singers, instrumentalists, and/or choirs
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Dean/Department of Music Chair and his assistant in scheduling times and availability.
- Serve as staff collaborative pianist for student private lessons as assigned.
- Available to accompany student performances at weekly Friday Performance Labs
- Available to accompany students in end-of-semester jury finals
- Available to occasionally work with students outside of private lesson if time and availability allow.
- Available to work, starting from the 3rd or 4th week of the semester up until jury finals on the last week.
- Available to collaborate with voice students for Jr. and Sr. degree recitals in the evenings when needed.
WORK SCHEDULE:
The work schedule is negotiated based on availability of the collaborative pianist and the need of the Department of Music. All work is done between the hours of 9:00 a.m.and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is occasional work available three Saturdays a year for music auditions.
WORK LOCATION:
This position will work on the main campus located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
