Job Summary

The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting a variety of warehouse operations including: receiving, processing, and stocking incoming inventory and products, as well as ensuring orders are accurately fulfilled and delivered to Valley Sanitary Supply and Janitorial Inc. clints in a timely fashion.

Objectives

• Receive, unload, audit and shelve incoming inventory and product according to established procedures.
• Maintain inventory and attach clear, accurate records and documentation for stock items.
• Ensure warehouse is organized and in safe condition by performing daily housekeeping.
• Prepare inventory and product for delivery and load product efficiently and safely.
• Transport and deliver inventory and product to various locations ona designated route.
• Sort and launder soiled textile items as needed.
• Operate a forklif, delivery truck, or other necessary machinery or warehouse equipment in a safe manner.
• Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Must possess or have the ability to be certified in forklift operations.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Possess an understanding of basic mathematical principles.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions, including safety and employee policies and practices.
• Work independently with minimal direction.
• MUST have a valid California Driver's License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record. Must stay eligible to be covered by GEI vehicle insurance carrier.

Education and Experience

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of demonstrated warehouse experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions

While performing the duties of this position, it is frequently required to stand o sit for long periods of time, walk, talk and hear, bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, reach, grasp, kneel, and lift hands above the head. Must be able to lift and /or carry items that weigh up to 50lbs. Must be able to utilize fingers, wrists, shoulders, neck and eye-sight as necessary in the useof equipment and vehicles as an essential function of the position.

Pay starts at $15.50.

An employee's actual rate of pay for this position is reliant upon various factors such as the geographic location of the worksite, the type of industry/clientele being serviced, and the employee's longevity with the company.
