Position: Patient Advocate
Location: Coral Gables
Pay-rate: $17
Job Description:
- Maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals
- Ensure complete and accurate registration
- Must enter and update referral data in electronic system
- Assemble information concerning patient's clinical background and referral needs
- Contact review organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements
- Provide specific medical information to financial services
- Assist patients in problem solving potential issues
- Establish and maintain relationships with identified service providers
- Ensure that referrals are addressed in a timely manner
- Ensure that patient's primary care chart is up to date
- Minimum requirement of one year work experience with referrals, or related medical office experience
- Experience with EMR systems is preferred
- Fluent in English and Spanish
