Digestive Care Center is seeking a* Patient Care Technician* in our Evansville Endoscopy Center. The Patient Care Technician assists with admission and recovery of patients. They are responsible for stocking supplies, assistance with procedure room turnaround and terminal room clean. They also have a detailed understanding of appointment scheduling, ancillary scheduling, patient records and customer service. Provides knowledgeable and efficient scheduling and chart preparation for incoming patients in the GEC.

What You Need for this Position:

• High school Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Maintains BLS Certification.
• Medical office experience preferred.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Obtains and documents pertinent information in pre-procedure record including procedure consents and document.
• Ensures the patient is dressed appropriately for procedure.
• Obtains patient vital signs and place appropriately in chart.
• Performs blood sugar testing, pregnancy test/waiver, and enemas if necessary.
• Completes admission process in efficient manner while maintaining patient privacy.
• Assists patient to restroom to change out of procedure gowns.
• Per RN’s instructions, assist patient and family to exit or discharge patient in wheelchair. If necessary, directs patient to check-out for post-procedure orders/appointments.
• Strips bed of used linens, cleans bead with hydrogen peroxide wipes, and redressed bed with clean linens. Empties linen hampers when needed.
• Wipes monitor cords and blood pressure cuff after each patient is discharged.

This position is Monday-Friday. No nights or weekends.
