Vancouver Clinic is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to join our Patient Service Center located in Battle Ground, WA. Full time and Part time schedules available.
Schedules:
  • Full time: Monday through Friday, 10:45am to 7:15pm
  • Part time: Monday through Saturday, 8:30am to 12:30pm, includes Sunday and one weekday off.
The right candidate will be able to work Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, during the training period (approximately 4-5 weeks). There is an opportunity to work remotely after successful completion of training and certain metric requirements (approximately 6 months).

In this role you will provide excellent customer service over the telephone in a Call Center environment. Will perform initial triage of phone calls per established protocols, schedule appointments, and serve as an important resource for questions and guidance to our patients through the scheduling process.
In addition to a competitive hourly pay rate, Patient Service Specialists are eligible for a generous quarterly achievement bonus following a successful completion of their orientation period. The bonus of up to $500 per quarter (prorated if you are less than full-time) is based on both individual and team achievement of established measures. Employees will receive more information about this program upon hire.
Job Duties:
  • Provide excellent customer care through phone interaction with patients.
  • Scheduling needs for all Primary Care service areas (including Urgent Care)
  • Qualify inbound calls from patients, providers, medical facilities and pharmacies, responding or redirecting according to established protocols
  • Handle emergency calls calmly and promptly according to established emergency protocols.
  • Perform pre-registration function including verification of demographic and financial information.
  • Serve as a resource for general and insurance referral/prior authorization related questions

  • Assists with basic MyChart inquiries

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous call center experience helpful.
  • Previous customer service experience required, healthcare experience helpful.
  • Drive for helping others through empathy and compassion.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage critical customer situations with grace and composure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accustomed to fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system helpful.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desired.
  • Ability to work independently yet operate as an integral part of a team.
  • Able to organize and prioritize work.
  • Proficiency with computers, software and systems.
  • Must have reliable and predictable attendance.

Pay Range:
$16.94 - $23.71

Benefits-eligible employees accrue PTO and Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked, totaling 120 hours in the first year for full time staff and 200 hours in the first year for full time supervisors and above, increasing in subsequent years. PTO and Personal Time accruals are pro-rated by FTE/hours worked. Non-benefits eligible employees will accrue Personal Time based on hours worked and State worked.
