Department Summary
University Health Services (UHS) is a unit within the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management and is a nationally accredited (AAAHC) outpatient clinic providing primary care to students at the University of Oregon. All staff are required to uphold the values of the UHS.
This position works in support of the University Health Services mission and vision and is consistent with UO policy. Some aspects of this position may be completed in collaboration with other University departments.
Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Medical Records Department and includes handling health records releasing requests according to policy and making appropriate notations in the electronic medical records. The position also includes appropriately identifying, labeling, and scanning patient documents into the electronic health record; handling external medical records, including proper notations within UHS health records and proper storage of such records. The position assists clinics in routing medical records upon request and according to policy.
The position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and routine screening of Medicaid and Medicare Exclusion Lists. Employee loses eligibility for employment if on the List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) and/or System of Award Management (SAM).
Must be in compliance with UHS policies regarding tuberculosis screening, measles and mumps (MMR), seasonal flu, hepatitis B, and other immunization requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
- An Associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
- Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.
- College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
