Job Description

Henderson Behavioral Health is seeking a Peer specialist with great leadership, coaching and recovery supports skills to fulfill one of the many positions available in our different locations. The specialist must have a minimum of high school diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in a field other than behavioral preferred. As a peer specialist, you will provide practical help and support, advocacy, coordination, side-by-side individualized support, problem solving, direct assistance, and training to our clients. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of community resources, excellent communications skills, as well as strong organizational and time management skills.

See below for the different Peer Specialist positions available and the specific requirements for each position:

· Peer Specialist for Early Treatment Program (ETP) – Treasure coast

  • Minimum a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Peer Specialist desired.
  • Experience with individuals with mental illness or similar human-service’s needs, or other applicable experience desired.
  • May have related training (e.g., certified occupational therapy assistant, home health care aide) or work experience (e.g., teaching) and life experience.

· Peer Specialist for Family Engagement Program (FEP) – Youth and Family - Broward

  • Candidate must have a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidate must have experience in recovery or be a certified peer specialist.
