Job Summary
The People & Culture Partner is responsible for supporting all areas of the employee life cycle including hiring, onboarding, off-boarding, engagement, people relations, and performance management. This position will serve as a business partner, providing front-line support to management and employees at all levels of the organization, including developing and implementing effective solutions to enhance the SERVPRO Headquarters employee experience. The People & Culture Partner reports to the People & Culture Manager.
You will
- Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.
- Conduct effective, thorough, and objective employee investigations and addresses employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
- Assist in the employee offboarding process and ensure that necessary employment termination paperwork is completed.
- Provide management with information or training related to performance appraisals, counseling techniques, or documentation of performance issues.
- Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.
- Support and collaborate on DEIB initiatives.
- Manage corporate community involvement to include annual employee giving campaigns and community outreach events.
- Plan and execute employee engagement and culture initiatives, including the oversight of employee recognition programs
- Serve as a secondary systems administrator on all HR systems.
- Maintain a pulse on the cultural well-being of the organization through facilitation of employee feedback through surveys, conversations, observations, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing risk, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation and assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention, including preparing, or implementing retention programs.
- Maintains and processes all unemployment notices and other potential charges in a timely, efficient manner and attends unemployment hearings when necessary.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Provide backup to corporate recruiting and other HR staff.
- Perform internal compliance audits to ensure all compensation practices are in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Assist with special projects, HR-related trainings, and other duties as assigned.
You have
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
- Minimum of 3 years’ human resource generalist experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field and relevant industry experience.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of general human resources functions and tasks.
- Proficient with MS Office programs and HRIS database system maintenance and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Professional, customer-service oriented interpersonal skills and the ability to develop a quick rapport with internal team.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize and be detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy. Must be flexible with high reliability and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and on a team within a fast-paced environment.
