Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Occupation Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) assists in providing rehabilitative services to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities to assure the highest quality of resident care and positive relationships among the community, team members, residents, and families. Monitors patients' performance in therapy activities and provides encouragement, assists in instructing patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the care and use of adaptive equipment, assists with implementing treatment plans.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.
- Function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with older adults, personnel, and support organizations.
- Ability to design and implement appropriate and meaningful programming.

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Therapy program
- 1-2 years of related experience
- Current Occupational Therapy Assistant state license
- Position may require travel and coverage at our Porter Hills Village location on occasion.
- All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, professional reference checks, TB Screen, and physical assessment at time of hire. In addition, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption is required.
