MI Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated and business driven individual for the role of pharmacy technician. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist the on-site pharmacist and pharmacy manager with serving customers by preparing prescription orders.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that pharmacy standards are maintained, policies are carried out and objectives are accomplished. The ideal candidate will be driven to provide timely, knowledgeable, and courteous help to the pharmacist as well as the customers as needed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the pharmacist with proper labeling and filling prescriptions
• Accurately preparing prescriptions under the pharmacist’s supervision
• Gather information for prescription insurance coverage, home pharmacy, and preferred pharmacy for prescription filling
• Facilitate resolution of prior authorizations, insurance barriers, and other medication access issues
• Collect data to determine process and outcomes measures of the program
• Assist with problem-solving and process improvements relevant to the program
• Collaborate with nursing, social workers, providers, pharmacists, and others to optimize patient care
• Restocking and organizing the pharmacy shelves (Drugs, supplies, etc.)
• Removing out of date items from inventory/shelves
• Other duties and projects as assigned by the supervisor to facilitate safe and efficient medication-related transitions of care

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Excellent communication (oral and written and presentation skills)
• Personal drive and internal motivation toward high achievement
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to influence, negotiate and gain commitment at all organizational levels
• Pharmacy Technician educational course work preferred
• One year or more of Long-Term Care or Retail pharmacy experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
