MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Pharmacy Technician for our Bloomington clinic.
Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for medication refills following designated protocol, medication change requests, and assist as backup with pharmaceutical prior authorizations. Collaborates with clinic staff, providers, and others to ensure patient medication needs are met. This position will also cover Triage Technician duties when time allows.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Electronically handling medication management for all Minnesota Eye Consultant providers (MDs, ODs, and PAs).
- Speaking with pharmacies and patients as needed to address medication refills and questions.
- Perform Triage Technician duties when medication tasks are complete.
- Triage patient phone calls, answer questions and resolve concerns as directed by the provider to achieve patient satisfaction.
- Determine the urgency for a clinic visit, if at all, and schedule patients accordingly.
- Properly document all calls using the Patient Communication log in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Initiate tasks via EHR when necessary to enlist the assistance of other team members to resolve the patient’s request and/or concern.
- Accurately complete medication refill requests obtained via fax, phone call, and patient portal.
- Other phone-specific duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- CPhT certification (Certified Pharmacy Technician) required.
- 1-2 years Pharmacy Tech experience preferred.
- Ophthalmology experience desired.
- Comprehensive knowledge and proficient use of EHR system preferred.
