Title: Photo Assistant

Reports to: Photographer & Videographer, E-commerce

Responsibilities

• Support the Photographer/Videographer for digital e-commerce content creation in all product categories across multiple formats including still-life, motion & on-figure and seasonal wholesale market needs inclusive of still-life, 360 videos & on-figure.
• Act as a second eye to the Photographer/Videographer to ensure standards across lighting, composition, focus, color accuracy, exposure and category consistency are in maintained in accordance with the brand photography guidelines.
• Partner with the Photo Studio Manager and Photographer/Videographer to ensure each set is prepared and broken down for all shoots, including camera, EQ, lighting, teleprompter, set design & backdrop needs.
• Work with Studio Manager to ensure upkeep of the studio equipment and inventory lists.
• Assist the photographer/videographer in problem solving issues with the camera, computer, software programs, and lighting.
• Act as the liaison between on-set team, Project Managers & Post-production team for facilitating image edits, missing images, managing on set exceptions to images for timely correction and processing urgent files as per request.
• Support with file naming conventions and image process according to requirement/standards before releasing to post-production.
• Stay informed about the current state of and future advances in photo & video production technology and recommend new hardware and software technologies based on analysis of brand needs.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience as a photo assistant or digital technician for both on figure and still-life in the luxury space required
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
• Proficient knowledge of studio lighting, EQ, set-up, and composition
• Have a solid understanding of file naming conventions and formats
• A true understanding of service, attention to detail and follow-up are crucial to success
• Working knowledge of studio lighting, EQ & audio-visual
• Works well under pressure to meet tight deadlines with the capacity to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Must be process oriented and maintain the ability to prioritize effectively
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Frame.io experience preferred
• GlobalEdit or similar Camera to Cloud experience preferred
