Physical Therapist Assistant - Working under the direction of physical therapists, provide physical therapy treatment to patients with musculoskeletal impairments. Also responsible for the monitoring and documentation of patient treatment and response.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Performs patient physical therapy treatments by following the plan of care and recommends modifications to the therapist, based on ongoing assessment of the patient condition
• Demonstrates an understanding of the operation and indications for commonly used modalities and equipment
• Documents daily notes, progress notes, and discharge notes in a timely manner; therapy charges are supported by this documentation
• Communicates and documents necessary information appropriately with patients, families, physicians and interdisciplinary team members

Requirements for this position include:

• Associates Degree required
• BLS certification, valid Wisconsin driver’s license, license to practice physical therapist assistant upon hire
• Read, write, speak and understand English; cognitive processes to interpret patient condition and apply appropriate procedures or contact PT; operation of computer software programs to monitor patient progress; ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and work with fractions; adaptability to change; ability to cope with stress; ability to prioritize work and effectively manage time. Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
