General Summary:

Independently review plans/specifications to create comprehensive process-piping/plumbing estimates for projects at semi-conductor, federal, local government, and privately owned facilities. Estimator will perform take-off s, obtain material and subcontractor quotes, as well as apply determined estimate add-ons. Maintains tight bid schedule adherence and must collaborate with internal personnel as needed to determine site and scope impacts that may affect bid.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years field construction experience
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years piping estimating experience or equivalent education (college or vocational school courses) in the construction or industrial engineering field
• Certifications: Plumber/Pipefitter/Gasfitter/Refrigeration journeyman license or completed apprenticeship, MM-98 optional

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven ability to read and understand specifications and plans with the ability to measure them accurately
• Working knowledge of estimating software (e.g., QuoteSoft) and the estimating process
• General understanding of local job site conditions and knowledgeable of customer-specific market segments
• Knowledge of construction methods and local construction codes and permit requirements
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software [Excel (advanced), Outlook Email, Word (basic knowledge), Internet Explorer
• Excellent communication skills

Physical Requirements:

Frequently sits. Frequent use of computer monitor and keyboard. Regularly stands. Regularly walks. Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces. Regularly ascends and descend stairs. Frequently lifts up to 35 pounds. Occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches and/or crawls. Regularly drives to project sites and meeting locations.
