This is what you will do:
The Manager Strategic Planning & Execution, US Medical Affairs is responsible for assisting with the execution of strategic initiatives within the US Medical Affairs organization and will work cross functionally to execute on projects in line with the functions overall strategic goals. This position will apply good project management techniques to ensure in scope, on-time, on budget results, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to execute the end to end procure-to-pay process, with significant focus on systems, processes, and training.
You will be responsible for:
- Strategic Project Management:
- Support the development of US Medical Affairs annual enterprise strategy development
- Track and monitor meaningful performance measures for strategic medical programs, and report on metrics of impact and effectiveness of Medical Affairs activity
- Proactively apply business acumen to develop new processes to ensure business continuity
- Ensure project timelines are managed and reported accurately
- Financial Reporting:
- Reconcile monthly accruals for all open purchase orders
- Assist with monthly financial reporting by TA/Function
- Work with USMA project owners to update monthly accrual schedules and ensure timely receipts
- Support financial analysis and trend reporting, including P-Card analysis
- Develop various training documents, liaising with USMA colleagues to ensure their full understanding of Alexion’s financial processes
- Operations:
- Manage system improvements/enhancements with a focus on continuous improvement
- Review and execute contracts for all USMA projects in alignment with Alexion policies
- Facilitate vendor onboarding, MSA generation, and SOW development with internal and external stakeholders
- Liaise with Legal to resolve questions and mitigate risk
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all USMA P2P processes and related activities
- Other strategic projects as assigned
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. You will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years in the pharmaceutical industry in a Medical Affairs organizations
- 1+ years experience in project management, desired, but not required
- 2+ years experience with managing financial systems
- Accounts payable & accounts receivable experience desired
- College/University degree, or relevant work experience
- Experience managing external contractors/vendors
- Strong knowledge of Compliance and Legal requirements in the Biopharma space
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing project scope
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization
- Meeting facilitation skills (personal organization, advanced preparation, follow-up)
- Strong command of the full Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong financial system acumen
- Strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- A continuous improvement mindset
