Location/Division Specific Information
Plainville MA/At Viral Vector Services (VVS) a division of Thermo Fisher Scientific we deliver, from process development through commercial supply, we offer the expertise and resources necessary to help clients deliver innovative gene therapies. Placed in the forefront of our leading- and cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapy business enabling clients to cure genetic, rare, and otherwise untreatable diseases.
How will you make an impact?
Materials Planning II is responsible for Production Planning, assuring all Contract Manufacturing Operation (CMO) plant production and associated site planning support activities are driven in compliance using standard operating procedures in a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment, where applicable.
How will you get here?
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in related Business, Materials Management, Logistics or Supply Chain preferred.
High School diploma, or equivalent required.
Experience
- American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or similar certification preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- 2-3 years of Planning experience in a manufacturing setting using SAP or equivalent ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical or related field is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of Project Controls/Planning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications of Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word.
- Understanding of cGMP Manufacturing (Pharma is a plus).
General knowledge of other operational areas, such as QC/QA, Warehousing, Manufacturing Sciences, and Procurement
S&OP engagement, preparing updates to be provided in each monthly cycle.
Working knowledge of manufacturing process operations, scheduling, and inventory control practices.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Detail oriented and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to recommend improvements relating to processes and systems.
