This position is based at Peterbilt’s Denton Office in Denton, Texas, where we have been headquartered since 1992 and manufacturing since 1980. In Denton, we have manufactured, supported, and distributed over 600,000 trucks and over 1 million trucks as a company. Requisition Summary
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Manage plant accounting responsibilities ensuring that Corporate, Division, and local policies, procedures and internal controls, including Sarbanes–Oxley, are effective and operating.
- Ensure accurate fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation records.
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journal entries
- Direct the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful financial reports, cost analyses, and forecasts. Analyze information and communicate opportunities to reduce cost and maximize profit.
- Manage a team of four employees who are responsible for plant cost accounting and payroll.
- Train, develop, and retain a well-qualified staff through the execution of a plan which includes recruitment, internal promotion, and evaluation.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation based on performance of interim inventories, factor reviews; build station audits and assistance in planning and executing a bi-annual physical inventory.
- Maintain effective oral and written communications with other members of the management team.
- Participate on special projects and other accounting functions as required.

- Advanced analytical and Excel modeling skills

- Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate, multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment
- Excellent follow through and attention to detail and accuracy
- Attention to detail with the ability to understand the “big picture”
- Deadline-driven and self-motivated.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting with six to nine years of experience in accounting required.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, technical, information systems and communication skills.
- Experience in manufacturing accounting and supervision preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Ability to relocate for future opportunities is preferred.
