MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field
• 3-years quality related experience in automotive production
• Certified Quality Engineer preferred
• Knowledgeable of the following: FMVSS and./or ECE product certification, Laboratory operation and certification (A2LA Accreditation),Metrology, CMM , Statistical Process Control (SPC), Geometric Tolerancing, and Blueprint reading
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to perform process capability and document laboratory tests
• Ability to work in team oriented environment
• Knowledge of automotive glass and glass lamination process preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish laboratory methods and procedures as mandated by government regulation.
• Acquire and maintain product certification
• Provides thorough analysis of all product problems occurring between part supplier and final customer
• Proposes problem resolutions, pursues necessary changes and verifies effectiveness of changes
• Prioritizes problems on the basis of severity and degree of customer dissatisfaction
• Informs management of problem status and resolution progress
• Participates on Cross Functional Business Teams to safeguard proper quality planning activities during the development phase of a new product
• Continues to support a new product at the customer after SOP
• Initiates Control Plans, Control Cards, Inspection Instructions and Check Sheets
• Evaluates and approves ISIR data and prepares the production part approval process (PPAP)
• Implements warranty reduction plans, initiated by Central Quality
• Provides initial certification (including R&R) for new gages and equipment
