Plastics Engineer - Plastic injection molding

POSITION SCOPE AND PURPOSE: Partner with sales to review, price, and provide quotes for potential customer projects ensuring low cost and efficient manufacturing while satisfying all customer requirements and product specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Interacting with sales, internal Engineering teams, and external vendors to appropriately price new customer projects
• Reviewing customer agreements and specifications to ensure materials used are appropriate for the job and abide by ISO specifications (if applicable)
• Completing RFQ's, producing reliable estimates, and verifying the tooling provided by suppliers meets all requirements for efficient production
• Securing external vendor pricing and/or applying standard costs to determine the price of manufacturing
• Applying profit margins by marking up cost and recommending the final selling price to management
• Reviewing and approving all tool designs and design changes, making any updates to pricing as needed
• Ensuring complete and accurate filing of customer history folders, pricing data, and related records/reports
• Preparing estimates and providing them to team for planning, organizing and scheduling work

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Plastics Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience pricing/quoting custom plastic injection molding jobs
• Knowledge of mold building, raw materials, latest equipment and techniques as well as injection molding resins and processing
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and part of a team
• Highly motivated and posses the ability to work well under deadlines
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

• IQMS ERP system
• SolidWorks / AutoCAD software
