Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) needs an agent of change within our global community of people working to create a cleaner, safer, and more efficient world for today and tomorrow. As part of the EE & SW Platform Management Team, you will be fundamental to ensuring our market leading brands continue to increase the quality of life and the business success of our customers, their customers, and the world around them. You will define, implement, and optimize mechatronic and software solutions as part of our high performing global Truck Technology organization within DTNA. Your involvement will stretch from customer need identification through start of production and beyond with vehicle lifecycle design updates. As “EE & SW Platform Manager” you will ensure that our next generation products meet the targets and requirements of our customers and that global colleagues are aligned on Programs and Module Team activities. This developing environment will require grit as well as a proactive mindset to collaborate and succeed.

Position offers a starting salary range of $98,500 - $126,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA
  • Lead cross-functional teams and task forces to ensure program criteria and deliverables are met and that actions are taken to meet project targets and mitigate risks.

  • Lead global SW & EE projects in the field of Vehicle Controls & Up fit as well as Energy Efficiency & PT controls. Ensure goals for cost reduction and quality improvement are realized for portfolio.
  • Ensure consistent application of global SW & EE project development standards and tools, such as visual management, cPLACE, JIRA, etc.
  • Analyze and track project deliverables against established targets including timing, budget, scope and resources, and present status to core teams, management board and other decision making bodies.
  • Understand customer use cases and translate into specific product features. Represent North American market requirements on SW & EE in global product planning, projects, working groups, and committees (including technical, business, and compliance requirements).
  • Lead product planning activities by working closely with local vehicle team. Represent DTNA in global product strategy and road-mapping, feature requests, project planning for Software & E/E products and features which potentially can be shared globally.
  • Interface global platform management (TT/LEE) to DTNA’s product and platform management.
  • Connect DTNA’s Lifecycle Management (LCM) to global LCM for SW & E/E in collaboration with local ICT.
  • Connect with customers to get specific insights (together with DTNA’s Platform and Segment Strategists, Market Development and engineering representatives).
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • 3+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s Degree OR 6+ years of related experience
  • Degree focus in Engineering or related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience leading and coordinating large scale, cross-functional, global product projects
  • Proven record of being well organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks in parallel and work professionally with various levels of management
  • Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Willingness to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change
  • Knowledge of truck industry in North America including use cases and requirements
  • Knowledge of the Daimler Truck Commercial Vehicle Development System (CVDS) and DTNA Visual Management or similar systems
  • Willingness and ability for moderate travel (10%) to other US States and Germany
  • Language: English (business fluent)
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • Experience working with mechatronic and SW products
