HybridCollins Aerospace is looking for a Power Generation Engineering Manager to manage a team of mechanical and electrical engineers that provide manufacturing and field support for fielded generators on military aircraft.
Hybrid:
Report onsite weekly (2-3 days per week on average).
Must be a commutable distance from Rockford, IL to work a hybrid schedule reporting on-site as needed.
This role is eligible for relocation, when qualified.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of direct reports to support military production and aftermarket generators. Also, lead other team members such as interns, contractors, and engineers in Global Engineering Centers.
Establish product program schedules, program estimates, and manage product program budgets.
Support product cost reduction initiatives.
Develop and qualify product block changes.
Perform original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and operator product problem root cause analysis and define, qualify, and implement corrective actions. Update standard design documents to reflect lessons learned.
Interface and communicate technical issues across all aspects of the business such as the engineering functions, program management, manufacturing, and aftermarket repair businesses.
Provide status reports to executive management, OEMs, and end users on technical issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing or leading project teams.
Experience with the design of high-speed rotating mechanical equipment.
Experience with the design of electromagnetic generation equipment.
Experience with product development program planning and budgeting.
Experience with leading small product development teams.
