KBR is seeking a Principal Systems engineer to support NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) contract as a Product Owner (PO) for the Cloud Metrics Team. Raytheon’s EED-3 team provides Earth scientists and others access to data from NASA’s Earth Science missions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain platform data analytics development road-map
• Engage with stakeholder community to collect and prioritize new development initiatives
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from user-story generation, design, development, automated testing, and operational support
• Continually help the agile development team grow by sharing new ideas and industry best practices
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Minimum of 8 years experience within data analytics
• 5+ years experience supporting systems engineering for large-scale distributed systems
• Data analytics and statistical methods including machine learning and anomaly detection
• Data schema development, data collection and ETL, and data lifecycle management
• Data visualization and communication experience
• Cloud infrastructure design, development, and implementation including serverless technologies

DESIRED SKILLS:

• AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, Developer, Data Analytics)
• 2+ years ElasticSearch / Splunk
• 4+ years experience Linux / RedHat
• 2+ Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation / Terraform)
• Python, JavaScript, Node.js
• Experience working with development teams in an Agile methodology (SAFe / Scrum)
• Experience with DevOps, especially automated testing and continuous integration
• Strong technical leadership, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and organizational skill
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Energetic, self-motived, team-player

EDUCATION:

• B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline

OTHER:

• This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. All candidates must be able to pass a National Agency Clearance with Inquires (NACI) screening

This position may work remotely. Relocation is NOT available. Quarterly travel for a few days may be required as COVID restrictions are lifted.
