Process Improvement Engineer-Vertical Start-Up-Indianapolis, IN

Job Overview: Onsite role. Not remote.

The Process Improvement Engineer will be engaged during the installation and start-up phases of the onsite project. The process improvement engineer will be responsible for outlining and implementing all operational and maintenance processes of the site. This position will be engaged in delivering operational excellence during the start-up of the project lifecycle.

The Process improvement engineer will coordinate efforts among workers and outside vendors, as well as train on site personnel for the successful transition of duties during the start-up and go-live phases of the project. The Process Improvement engineer will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge technology and will play an integral part in implementing strategic plans with large enterprise clientele.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be present on-site Mon-Fri and attend on-site meetings

  • Schedule and facilitate the installation and start-up activities of spare parts cages on site

  • Become familiar with Packsize softwares such as Salesforce and computerized maintenance management software

  • Train on site team members in the implementation, start-up, and utilization of CMMS

  • Conduct process improvement, staffing analysis, facility design, workflow analysis, profit optimization, cost reduction, or other systems studies as needed. Formulates recommendations

  • Learn and understand the operational theory of Packsize automated machines

  • Define action items and coordinate subsequent follow-up with the on site teams to completion

  • Directly interface with the on site maintenance teams to coordinate efforts related to machine readiness

  • Perform Gap Analyses of current operational / maintenance processes and develop innovative and sustainable solutions.

  • Plan utilization of equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.

  • Study functional statements, organizational charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units to identify areas of duplication

  • Implement methods and procedures for disposal of material and defective or damaged parts and assess cost and responsibility

  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis processes to review significant process failures, identify corrective action to prevent re-occurrence and refine asset strategy to sustain improvement.

  • Effectively communicate project status and suggest changes to use resources more efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering,or related field

  • 2+ years of previous experience in similar technical position preferred

  • Problem solver with excellent leadership skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work on one's own

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • 10%-25% travel but majority of time will be spent on site

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
