Basic Function

• 
  Works on process safety initiatives and projects as assigned,
• Tracks effectiveness of process safety program using approved performance indicators.
• Contributor to refinery safety meetings,
• Develops and delivers training as requested.
• Champion the communication program for results from process hazard analysis studies and incident investigation.
• Leads/participates in process safety initiated investigations,

Must have High School Diploma or GED.

Required Skills

• Must be in good standing with the union
• Must possess a background that demonstrates a personal commitment to safety
• Must be an individual who’s respected by their peers and management team members,
• Must be able to lead others by example,
• Must be enthusiastic about and committed to promoting and process safety management.
• Requires a high degree of organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work and complete multiple tasks within a prescribed time frame,

• Must be proficient in the use of the personal computer and plant computer software (Outlook). Will need to become proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, SAP and Enablon.

• Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization,
• Should have a complete understanding of Plant organization, policies, and procedures.

• Will need to develop an understanding of OSHA’s PSM Elements and API’s Process Safety Indicators.

• Should be familiar with the process areas and has an understanding of what their units do.
• Must be able to read and follow a P&ID’s.
• Proficient in Root Cause Failure Analysis methodologies is a plus.
