JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of and reporting to the Primary Factory Manager, the Injection Molding Set Plastic Operator is responsible for Set Up, maintain, adjust, and monitor injection molding machines to produce quality components as per Quality Work Instructions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides technical recommendations to improve quality and performance of molds and molding machines.
• Make necessary adjustments and monitor injection molding machines to produce quality components.
• Maintain documentation on machine quality out-put.
• Inspect plastic parts and work pieces using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, plug gauges.
• Understand and follow “Operator Instructions” necessary for safe operations of machines.
• Participate in problem solving process.
• Participate in “Continuous Improvement Process”.
• Perform minor repairs and call in work orders for maintenance.
• Store and clean tools properly.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years outside experience, currently hold the Injection Molding Set up/Operate job classification, previously held this classification or must be a graduate of the Master Lock Company Injection Molding Trainee program
• Good understanding of monitoring processes and product quality.
• Good understanding of trouble shooting industrial equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of safety practices and procedures around manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Basic computer use.
