Job description

Valley View Landfill is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Processor to join our team. The Metal Processor will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to preparing and processing ferrous and nonferrous metals. This includes stripping wires and cutting metals using grinders, tin snipes, wires strippers and assorted other tools to prepare the metal for shipping.

Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain a variety of metal processing machinery and tools, such as saws, shears, drills, grinders and a forklift.

Cut, strip and sort metal into large boxes, inspect and measure components.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures.

Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent, additional training or certificate in metal a plus.

Basic understanding of mathematics and measurements to ensure accurate cutting and shaping of metal.

Problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot.

Ability to work independently as well as be a part of the team.

Physical ability to lift up to 100lbs and move metal as needed.

Commitment to work safety and adherence to safety guidelines and procedures.

Knowlege of the different types of metals a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
