Job description
The primary goal of the Production Assistant (Shop Floor) is to work with the area supervisors to assist them in production activities and in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to the production schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Production Assistant:
- Assist in completion of production and process related documentation and material disposition.
- Assist in review of documents, such as production schedules, work orders, materials requirements, or material priorities.
- Requisition and maintainence of inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite the flow of materials and meet production schedules.
- Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
- Confer with other personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production or shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
- Examine documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, or quality control measures.
- Maintain files, such as maintenance records, bills of lading, or cost reports.
- Contact suppliers to verify shipment details.
Qualifications of Production Assistant:
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing concepts and terminology.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Education and/or Experience of Production Assistant:
- A high-school diploma or GED is required.
- A college degree is preferred, with a focus in manufacturing or business, or equivalent combination of education and/or manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with an ERP system is desired.
- Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
- Good basic math skills
