Job description
This position will coordinate, release and manage raw materials, outside process, and internal parts to meet the production and shipment schedule in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand lead times and manufacturing capacities so that material is available to meet production and shipment requirements
- Ability to create accurate manufacturing routers
- Work with engineering bill of material and product specifications to determine material needs and lead times
- Make sure that material requirements and shortages are fulfilled to meet production and shipment requirements
- Reschedule and/or communicate with sales, production and engineering departments regarding design changes and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions
- Analyze available capacity vs. planned production schedule and implement appropriate changes required to meet set schedule
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels in accordance with the department goals and objectives.
- Gather and analyse information to prepare status reports on project
- Work on process improvement projects company wide
- Exercises a good working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to help with making planning decisions- long lead items, and OE suppliers
- Performs analysis & recommend changes within organization and department to avoid future bottlenecks
- Be able to communicate across departments in regards to delays in material
Desired Skills or Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Distribution or Supply Chain Management OR
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Having a degree is a plus not a requirement. Experience is more important.
- Able to learn product cycle from start to finish for successful completion of projects
- Understands manufacturing processes and be mechanically inclined
- Ability to read machining drawing a must
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other software applications
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Should be independent, self-starter and require minimal supervision
- Adapt to constantly changing work environment
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must be able to pay attention to detail

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
