Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our team. The Production Planner will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient planning and scheduling of raw materials, jobs, and operations within our ERP environment and on the shop floor. As a key member of our team, you will maintain data integrity, expedite the flow of work orders, and achieve high levels of product delivery commit integrity. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of our manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, release, and maintain material requisitions and jobs to meet customer demand.
  • Review material and outside service vendor (OSV) requirements and submit requisitions.
  • Track requisition status and confirm purchase order (PO) creation.
  • Create and maintain accurate work orders, incorporating engineering changes and process updates.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, sales, purchasing, and shipping/receiving to expedite work orders.
  • React promptly to customer demand changes and take immediate actions to adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Audit and maintain ERP data accuracy across all job-related aspects.
  • Analyze work center load and capacity, and communicate changes in priority to cell leaders.
  • Generate and release weekly shop floor employee work schedules.
  • Review MRP signals and provide monthly/weekly delivery commitments with 100% commit integrity.
  • Create finished goods shippers and monitor inventory levels, reducing WIP and finished goods to meet targets.
  • Perform inventory transactions and collaborate with buyers to adjust raw material purchase orders.
  • Validate customer demand and actively participate in the cycle count program.
  • Ensure high levels of on-time delivery performance and minimize overdue/past due orders.
  • Coordinate with the expeditor to ensure vendor promise dates are met and support the production schedule.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks within the scope and skill level of the position as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proactive team player with a background in production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
  • Proficient in MRP/ERP and supply chain management (knowledge of Epicor is a plus).
  • Excellent reasoning and communication skills.
  • High energy level, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access).
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CFPIM) is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of production planning experience in the aerospace or similar manufacturing industry.
