JOB TITLE: Production Specialist
BUSINESS: Ozark Aeroworks, LLC
LOCATION: Springfield, Missouri, USA
Ozark Aeroworks LLC (OZARK) is the Model T53 Engine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). OZARK also provides full maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). Both OEM and MRO businesses are collocated in our Springfield MO facility. OZARK’s primary MRO product lines include the T53 engine, T53 fuel controls and governors, Rolls-Royce M250 Engine (specifically the C47, C30, and C20 models), and machining capability for fast shop component repairs. As the OEM, OZARK is a full-service global provider of new spare parts, technical support, and engineering services.
JOB FUNCTION / PURPOSE
OZARK is the respected leader for the T53 engine, its MRO capabilities, and level of customer commitment. To help us continue growing and set the standard for excellence, we are seeking an experienced specialist to join our highly skilled team. The Production Specialist, reporting to the Production Controller, will support the overhaul and repair of aircraft turbine engines by being heavily involved in the management of the company ERP system through the entire process and by acting as the primary liaison concerning the retrieval of parts between logistics and production. The position is located in a fast-paced environment.
It is expected that this person will be actively engaged in the following:
PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the primary liaison between logistics and production to include expediting parts between the two departments
- Create and manage the list of parts needed per work order to include replacement parts needing to be pulled from inventory or purchased, and parts needing to be repaired, both in-house and by outside vendors
- Create and manage both internal and external component and accessory work orders in the company ERP system
- Identify and retrieve parts from inventory that could be inspected/repaired/overhauled to utilize for engine builds
- Assist the Production Controller with ERP system engine work order management by reviewing discrepancies and the bill of material
- Accurately and efficiently process return to stock and rejected items through the ERP system
- Coordinate with multiple levels of supervision to determine priorities, and task schedules, based on customer demands
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Controller
KEY OBJECTIVES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Increase On-Time-Delivery (OTD) and reduce quality defects to customers
- Ensure technicians have parts in a timely manner to build engines efficiently
- Maintain extreme accuracy with fine details concerning data input into the ERP system
- Identify existing inventory to be repaired and utilized on engine builds
- Decrease overall turn-around-time and backlog age of work orders
- Maintain concise communication, both verbal and written
KEY SUCCESS ATTRIBUTES
- Ability to keep a level head and temperament in a dynamic environment
- Extreme attention to detail with ability to re-prioritize as required
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to do limited work in non-climate-controlled atmosphere (minimal transport work outdoors required)
- Strong Computer skills, with ability to learn and retain technical information
- Proficient in Microsoft suite
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external customer interactions
- Ability to follow safe work practices and company safety protocol at all times
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Previous parts expediting experience and/or experience in a similar role is preferred.
