Responsibilities to Anticipate

• Working under general supervision and exercising judgement regarding assembly methods and techniques, assemblies, solders, disassembles, repairs, reworks, modifies, inspects and spray paints a wide variety of systems, test equipment and prototypes, units, assemblies, transducers and parts.
• Receives, unpacks, verifies, stores, issues, moves, packs and ships cabinets, furniture, units, equipment, parts and material for production, engineering and maintenance projects.
• Works from drawings, engineering instructions, sketches, models, schematics, diagrams, lists, prints, and process sheets, visual aids, wiring diagrams, specifications and written and verbal instructions to perform a full range of production specialty operations.
• Sets up and operates equipment.
• Selects and lays in wire on cable harnesses, reworks and incorporates change orders as required, and removes completed cables from boards.
• Performs assembly, disassembly, processing, point-to-point wiring operations and harness installation on electronic and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, transducers, boards and components.
• Performs continuity checks, encapsulates or molds assemblies an cables using various encapsulants, adhesives or rubber materials, using production or pre-production tooling, Lays out, drills and installs assemblies, components and hardware.
• Checks mechanical devices installed for primary function.
• Visually, electrically, and mechanically inspects work and performs rework and repair, as required.
• Make stencils and templates, and prepares and stencils units, parts, or shipping containers as specified.
• Issues precision and assembly tooling.
• Incorporates and installs engineering change orders, as required.
• Fabricates, processes, electroplates and applies circuit pattern to printed circuit boards.
• Sets up, operates and adjusts various soldering machines.
• Prepares and applies conformal coat materials.
• Installs cooling/heating and plumbing services.
• Performs pressure testing and flushing or completed assembly, as needed.
• Applies sealing and bonding compounds and performs potting and molding operations.
• Prepares product and performs full range of spray painting operations, as required.
• Makes recommendations for engineer(s) or supervision for improvements on equipment assembly methods, tools and techniques, reliability and quality.
• Maintains cleanliness of workstation and equipment and maintains necessary logs.
• Ability to successfully pass required assessments related to the duties/tasks outlined in description above.

Qualifications You Must Have

• High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
• Must be able to work 2nd shift.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. secret clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Additional Details:

This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement. Wage and work place conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement. Individuals hired into this position will be represented by a union.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
