The Program and Activity Director (PAD) is a leader in the creation and maintenance of BBBSWC programming and match activities. The Program Director partners with the Executive Director and Board Leadership to support all match support specialists in problem-solving and barrier removal. The activity portion of this position requires community outreach, scheduling activities, coordinating staff and follow-up evaluation after the activity.
Program/Activity Director Position Summary
The Program/Activity Director (PAD)works with the Executive Director to implement the strategic plan for the mentoring program. The PAD hires, trains, coaches, and supervises the enrollment and match support staff, conducts file audits, sets individual goals, and tracks program metrics. The PAD leads the program team to successful performance on agency goals and quality measures. The PAD also coordinates match activities, working with hosts, sites and logistics of events and assigning staff coverage at activities.
Qualifications
Education
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human services, education, social work, or related field. Other degrees considered dependent on experience.
Experience
- Experience (2 years) working with children and family populations in a social service setting preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with issues of child safety and ongoing assessment.
- Experience communicating face-to-face with clients, both individually and in group settings.
- In person and/or telephone interview and assessment experience preferred.

- Ability to ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of job function.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel and ability to work in an online data management system.
Activity Coordinator
- Set and maintain a calendar of match activities.
- Work with office manager for reservations, confirmation and needed volunteers.
- Set/assign rotation of staff to facilitate activities.
- Secure facilities, negotiate fees.
- Set a budget for food, beverage, and other needs.
- Coordinate preparation for activities.
- Provide communication pieces for activities to office manager for distribution.
- Monitor reservations for numbers of matches attending.
- Ensure follow-up notes are entered for activities.
- Attend large activities.
Program Director
- Set goals for the agency and individuals and track results monthly for match support completed and completed on time, and match retentions rates.
- Set completion goals and track results for Youth Outcome and Strength of Relationship surveys, compute outcome data for United Way reporting and other grant related reporting.
- Ensure efficient use of surveys and regular updates.
- Ensure quality service delivery and customer service withing the Standards of Practice.
- Ensure a high level of proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures.
- Conduct match support file audits in accordance with BBBS standards.
- Trouble-shoot and problem solve with staff on difficult inquiries and matches to reduce premature closure.
- Understand Enrollment/Matching and match support functions; be able to fill in and to train new staff in both areas.
- This position requires a flexible work schedule and the ability to work some weeknight evenings and weekends.
Other tasks may be assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor's request or the CEO.

Travel
The employee must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the community we serve throughout nights and weekends with full time access to an automobile and automobile insurance in the amount required by the state of Wisconsin.

Each year the agency holds events that typically fall after normal office hours. These events may be mandatory for all staff. For scheduling purposes, you will be notified of the dates as early as possible. These events may include but are not limited to the following:
- Bowl for Kids’ Sake -February
- Golf Fore Kids’ Sake - June
- Golf Marathon – September/October
As an employee of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Team, you may be required to attend other agency-related activities, meetings and events as deemed necessary.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
