Job summary Amazon's Translation Services is looking for a Senior Localization Program and Team Manager to drive a global localization strategy to identify and resolve translation coverage and quality defects actively showing on retail sites. They will work on behalf of customers to improve evaluation mechanisms that scale with Amazon. As a Senior Program and Team Manager, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, strategizing and implementation of innovative solutions for Amazon. You will be working with global cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal and external business partners, influencing localization processes and standards. You will lead your team by example in advocating for the customer and seeking innovative solutions that customers couldn’t imagine. You will operate with minimal guidance in situations where strong judgment is required for solving complex situations. Through a data-driven approach, you will identify process improvements and design solutions to scale our localization program through technology and automation. The successful candidate has strong stakeholder management skills, ownership, and ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. They understand operations and have a passion for efficiency and continuous improvement. They are an independent self-starter who thrives in connecting people and ideas and have a strong entrepreneurial drive. They are hands-on managers who enable their teams to thrive in their daily work. They excel at communication and are comfortable with playing a lead role in a highly visible organization. Key job responsibilities •Own programs that identify, prioritize, and resolve both translation coverage and quality gaps -Lead coordination of Localization PMs to diagnose and resolve defects. -Partner with Amazon business teams and tech teams to address root causes and solutions for systemic problems. -Serve as escalation point for issues lacking resolution or communication. -Prioritize deep dive investigations. •Contribute to language strategy in order to leverage content reuse across different content types. •Evaluate and propose improvements of localization tool features. •Research the needs of multiple stakeholders to be able to make trade-offs to optimize coverage and quality. •Evangelize internationalization and localization best practices. •Demonstrate a bias for action and an ability to deal with ambiguity.
