RLF is currently seeking a full-time Project Architect to report directly to our Director of Architecture. The successful candidate will have a history of being able to successfully drive individual and project work tasks to completion within a project timeline. Additionally, RLF requires all team members to work with collaboration and teamwork at the forefront of all efforts. The full job description is listed below.
Job Summary:
The Project Architect will collaborate with external clients and consultants and internal team members during all phases of the design delivery process. This position will provide support to the Project Manager in generating quality documents that will be used for design, permitting, budding and construction under the review and certification of a registered Architect.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Must be able to listen and speak. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer with repetitive finger, hand, and wrist movements required. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Additionally, this position will require site visits to active and completed construction sites, so there will be a need to walk uneven terrain and have visual and auditable awareness of site risks during active construction. This position will require occasional travel to attend client meetings and conduct site visits, so the ability to travel for prolonged periods via car, airplane, and potentially other modes of mass transportation will be required. RLF team members will need to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Accommodations for Medical or Religious Beliefs will be considered.

Job Summary:

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Executes and/or coordinates specific technical design activities of an assigned client project, including investigations, evaluations, and recommendations of design solutions that best meets the client need under the review and certification of a registered Architect.
- Assists registered architects in providing architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
- Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
- Coordinates the work of in-house project teams and external consultants in a timely manner to support the design delivery process within the specified project timeline.
- Conducts material and methods research and collect product data as required to support the technical specifications of a project.
- Attends client meetings to present and convey the design idea as well as discuss the technical aspects of the project to client leaders and project stakeholders.
- Carries out field investigation as required to validate existing site and building conditions under the review and certification of a registered Architect.
- Conducts building code and life safety analyses for assigned projects.
- Completes architecture related activities throughout all phases of the design delivery process including but not limited to reviewing shop drawings, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and conducting site observation during the construction administration phase of the project under the review and certification of a registered Architect.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- Graduate of a NAAB accredited professional degree program in Architecture
- 6 years of progressive experience coordinating design and construction documents.
- Licensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure.
- Federal Healthcare project experience.
- Specification Writing experience.
- Life Safety and Building Code research and analysis.
- 2 years in a lead role on a project team.
