Advertised Job Summary
Under general supervision, coordinates, develops, implements, and maintains systemic processes for a variety of projects within the School of Medicine-Columbia (SOMC), Office of Undergraduate Medical Education (UME). Performs data collection and provides administrative support as needed. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree and 2 years related program experience, or bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with undergraduate medical education programs; Proficient with basic project management software; Proficient with database creation and management; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to manage diverse and competing priorities while meeting deadlines; Ability to balance multiple activities simultaneously; Organizational skills, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks; Ability to work independently; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all employees.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to work independently while developing strong collaborative relationships with all colleagues. Ability to exercise professional judgment and discretion and maintain strict confidentiality. General knowledge of project management principles, familiarity with basic project management software, and the ability to coordinate projects is needed. Ability to prioritize work, manage diverse and competing priorities while meeting deadlines. Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products and database management. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Ability to plan, organize and facilitate project plans and deliverables is essential. Exceptional organizational skills and time management skills are required. Ability to balance multiple activities simultaneously. Proficient in analyzing data and summarizing results. Proven ability to be a self-starter, learn quickly and work independently. Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
