The Project Engineer II is responsible for managing and delivering capex engineering projects to achieve project objectives in terms of approved scope, budget, quality and time schedule, and with the required functionality, whilst ensuring that the execution of the Project complies with all relevant Safety and Environmental and compliance requirements. Act as safety champion, striving for zero incidents and accidents.

  • Manages projects in an effective and efficient manner by ensuring delivery for assigned projects.
  • Manages changes such as project expansion, change of scope and schedule, or budget and reports them with impact analysis.
  • Serves as the primary client contact for assigned projects.
  • Prepares and maintains the project master schedule.
  • Partner with design engineering companies to develop detailed plans, specifications, and drawings as biddable packages.
  • Partner with construction companies and lead the field execution and installation of facilities, utilities, and process equipment.
  • Manage contractors and internal staff on projects.
  • Develop resource plan for internal and external resources required to support the project execution.
  • Assists preparation of estimates and funding requests for new projects
  • Develop project objectives, proposed solutions, project benefits, possible alternatives, potential risks, and key financials.
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves scopes of work and proposals.
  • Manages all associated client project deliverables in line with the defined responsibilities of each project team member.
  • Manages planning and scheduling conflicts among the project team and with production.
  • Manages client expectations efficiently with minimal guidance. Maintains strong working relationships with all client representatives.
  • Develops project objectives working with user requirement and business plans.
  • Prepares, owns, and maintains project budgets and schedules.
  • Reports on project performance for site leadership.
  • Communicates issues or risks in a timely and effective manner and develops mitigation plans to address/resolve them.
  • Prepares contingency plans and logically work through complex issues.
  • Prepares vendor scopes of work (SOW) and request for proposals (RFP).
  • Works with suppliers and vendors for projects to review and receive quotes.
  • Ensures all project close-out activities are completed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $92,800 and $139,200 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors

Minimum requirements

  • B.S. degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 2+ years of engineering experience in Chemical or Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven skills in project management, decision making and problem solving.
  • Exceptional time management, planning, organizational, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with a willingness to assume responsibilities, take ownership for work.
  • Must be able to adhere to all applicable procedures, cGMPs, company policies and any other quality or regulatory requirements. (For example: OSHA, DEA, FDA, EMEA, ANVISA, HS&E, etc.).
  • Proficient computer skill utilizing MS Office suite applications, Building Management Systems, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and similar GMP systems.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Detail- and goal-oriented, quality conscientious and customer focused. Solution-oriented thinking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Training in radiochemistry or radio pharmacy is preferred.
  • Radiation safety education is preferred.
