The Opportunity and Who You’ll Work With:


We are looking for a Project Manager who will have the primary responsibility of managing the execution of large scale initiatives across WBUR. Your initial focus of the role will be on an organization-wide project to migrate and integrate WBUR’s CRM and associated platforms to Salesforce’s platforms. Your work will include managing the vendor relationship, working with stakeholders and vendors to define requirements, project scope, and roadmap. You will report to WBUR’s Chief Operating Officer.


As Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:


  • Manage requirements gathering within projects. Collaborate with end users to understand and document ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ processes and requirements. Includes facilitation between departments to reach agreement on requirements.
  • Plan scope of delivery of projects in close collaboration with project teams and project sponsors. Create project timelines and then own the monitoring, communication, and accountability to adhere to the timelines.
  • Define success measures for both project end state and at iterative checkpoints, and track accordingly.
  • Manage the execution of projects. Manage project teams and delivery of projects including requirements gathering, design, resourcing, project plan, execution, transition to new systems,, and project closure. Proactively manage issues and risks. Manage project resources, budget and schedule.
  • Ensures fluid communication within the project team and with project sponsors
  • Execute necessary business analysis tasks to ensure successful project delivery: discovery, validation, documentation and communication of business processes and requirements for projects.
  • For areas requiring workflow changes, gather requirements and identify business process re-engineering with end users.
  • Create clear presentations for leadership that summarize the status of complex projects.
  • Maintain understanding of relevant applications and/or infrastructure technologies as relevant for each project. Stay current on relevant technology capabilities and best practices and communicate key capabilities and opportunities to teams.
  • Provide project administrative support to project sponsors by maintaining project schedules, meeting notes, issues and risks logs, status reports, etc.
  • Act as the end-user advocate during the project lifecycle to ensure business requirements and processes are understood and addressed during design, development, and deployment by the execution team.

Required Skills

What You’ll Need to Succeed:


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of project management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or equivalent is a plus.

Additional Capabilities and Proficiencies:


  • An excitement about WBUR’s mission to provide an essential public good: high quality journalism and enriching experiences that foster understanding, connection and community.
  • Experience with change management and leading change management related to platform deployments.
  • Experience at non-profits, member-based organizations, media, or public media all a plus.
  • Experience with IT processes.
  • Orientation to documentation and controlled environment with checks and balances and dots connected.
  • Ability to see ahead of needs and anticipate requirements and opportunities.
  • Ability to get down into the details while also being able to see the broader operational opportunities to fully optimize WBUR’s investment in Salesforce.
  • Business acumen to quickly understand areas to focus.
  • Exceptional communication and written skills.
  • Anticipates questions and exhibits ability to simplify messages for all spectrum of audiences.
  • Constant state of “solutioning” every obstacle; turning them into opportunities.
  • Design exhibits, reports to zero-in-on what matters the most.
