Cornerstone Family Healthcare is actively recruiting for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in Newburgh, NY.

RATE OF PAY/SALARY: $130,000 to $150,000 annually

JOB SUMMARY:

• The purpose of this position is to work closely with members of Cornerstone to provide quality mental health care to patients.
• Provides care to individuals, families, groups, and communities, assessing their mental health needs.
• Develops a nursing diagnosis and plan of care, implements the nursing process, and evaluates it for effectiveness.
• Offers primary care services to the psychiatric-mental health population (assess, diagnose, and treat individuals and families with psychiatric disorders or the potential for such disorders using their full scope of therapeutic skills, including the prescription of medication and administration of psychotherapy.)
• Provide quality care with maximum patient comfort and safety in the office setting.
• Carry a case load of patients for ongoing care and evaluations.
• Prescribe medications as needed.
• Integrate health care by working with other providers and health care specialist.
• Act as a professional liaison with peers and professional organizations through continuing medical education programs, publications and memberships, etc.
• Participate in the Cornerstone Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement programs in order to achieve organizational goals.
• Precept nursing or nurse practitioner students as requested.
• Participate in after hours telephonic call with other providers in the behavioral health department.
• Perform chart reviews as required for CQI and other quality assurance programs.
• Document and complete all patient medical forms including disability, medical clearance, etc.
• Attend and participate in monthly department, All Staff and other required meetings.
• Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the Cornerstone Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
• Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of Cornerstone including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer/Staff Psychiatrist.

• Must have graduated from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Must have a Certified specialty in Psychiatry
• Minimum 3-5 years experience

Licenses Required:

• New York State License to Practice Medicine
• Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate
