GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.The physician shall provide psychiatric services to the Center in accordance with standards established by nationally recognized groups and agencies for psychiatric services, general policies established by the Board of Directors, regulations established by the Department of Public Welfare Offices of Mental Health and the by-laws of the Dr. Warren E. Smith Centers and the medical staff.
ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTIONS:
1. Psychiatric evaluation on new clients.
2. Medication monitoring.
3. Laboratory monitoring on clients taking specific medication
4. Psychiatrist shall be eclectic with solid background in psychopharmacology.
5. Physician should be available for home visits; (transportation/insurance policy to be provided by the agency.
6.Supervision of therapists working on mutual clients.
7. Review of treatment plans.
8. In-service training for clinical staff.
9. Physician should be experienced in crisis resolution and in the management of the agitated patient.
10. Physician should be available to participate in committees as designated by the Clinical and/or Medical
Director.11. Physician should feel comfortable working as a team member in treating the patient.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
PREREQUISITES & QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
1. Must be graduate of an approved medical school with an M.D. or D.O. degree;
2. Must be licensed as a physician in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and Board Certified, or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
3. At least a minimum of three (3) years experience highly desired;
COMPETENCIES & PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS
1. Must have substantial knowledge and experience in community health/public health orientation
and be experienced in patient care management;2. Must have good facilities in oral and written communication.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

• Philadelphia, PA 19141: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

• BC/BE (Preferred)
• Medical License (Preferred)
