The Quality Assurance Coordinator at DesignPac, a division of 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc., is responsible for supporting the testing process for all sourced product (from external vendors & suppliers) used in our finished product through creating test request forms, tracking testing status and informing the QA Director of any issues with testing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the shipping of samples to US and overseas labs
• Communicate testing results to vendors and Purchasing team
• Communicate compliance expectations to external and internal stake holders
• Managing assigned projects
• Summarize expectations and results to stake holders.
• Attend product Cost Line Review & Sold gift Review meetings and providing input and updates to stakeholders.
• Submit & manage submitted Social Compliance inspection documents to vendors.
• Inspect received REU’s against approved samples
• Receive products into internal software program
• Complete QC Inspection Paperwork
• Review & manage received and submitted Food Vendor Questionnaires
• Review information received from Food vendors and either approve the vendors or put them in a hold status
• Contact vendors with missing information and update Vendor Approved Register
• Ensure that we have all our FSMA approved documents from our vendors

Requirements:

• Associates Degree OR 5 Years’ Experience in the food industry
• 4 Year Degree in either Food Science, Biology or Chemistry.
• 1 – 3 years’ experience
• Ability to work in a team environment and interact with cross functional team members.
• Superior knowledge of Excel
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form
• Tactful, helpful demeanor at all times when dealing with customers
• Great organizational abilities
• High energy for fast-paced environment
• Able to switch gears quickly as issues arise
• Calm & unflappable demeanor

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
