Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Director helps to develop and monitor quality standards throughout all departments in the company. The QA Director will hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all QA staff. Duties include developing and implementing effective Quality Management Standards, measurable performance metrics, and testing methods. In addition, the QAD will oversee all quality control processes and identify areas of improvement, refine procedures at various stages to improve clarity and effectiveness, and compile data documenting non-conforming activities, corrective actions, and preventative actions followed by analysis and reporting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Understand customer expectations/requirements along with MMG strengths and limitations to develop effective Quality Management Standards that can be followed throughout the organization.
- Supervising QA/QC staff and monitoring production to ensure process effectiveness and compliance. Provide direction and feedback when necessary.
- Set standards for the quality of raw materials that are used in production and develop processes that verify incoming product quality and supplier compliance.
- Monitor, evaluate, and audit internal production processes for QA compliance and potential non-conforming behaviors/trends. When areas of improvement arise work with stakeholders to identify and implement effective changes.
- Responsible for following up with QA team to verify all non-Conforming behaviors are identified and addressed. Furthermore, working with staff to develop appropriate Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions help resolve future issues.
- Engage with production, administrative, and sales staff to gather product/process feedback and make improvements when warranted.
- Keep accurate and contemporaneous documentation of all quality concerns and provide statistical analysis and reporting to management team. This will require working with Safety, Maintenance, Manufacturing, as well as other departments to identify areas of potential improvement.
- Evaluating product recalls/returns and working with manufacturing leadership to identify the best resolution for the circumstance.
- Work with Manufacturing and QA/QC teams to incorporate Lean fundamentals into the manufacturing process. Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineered drawings.
- Must be comfortable incorporating technology into day-to-day responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- History of working with a team to accomplish organizational and departmental goals.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Able to navigate Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Experience with Manufacturing specific Quality Assurance is required.
- Experience working with ISO or other Quality Management Systems preferred.
- Experience working with LEAN is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing on production floor and working in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lift 30+ pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
Compensation and benefits commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
