Quality Assurance Worker

Duration: 11+ months with possibility of Extension

Location: 1500 Powis Rd, West Chicago, IL|60185

Shift: Day shift 75% of the time

Job Description

• We are expanding! We are seeking entry level production employees to join our plant team as we grow our business. The West Chicago plant manufactures Rigid Paper Containers utilized in food packaging for powdered beverages, nuts, snacks, etc.
• The plant normally operates a 24x5 (3) shift schedule.

Duties

• Perform visual quality checks/inspections on finished good product.
• Conduct required offline testing for products.
• Document and generate COA's/COC's as required.
• Must be able to understand which measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various tasks and how to assess tool accuracy and precision; understands the concept of standards traceability for (M&TE).
• Understands and applies basic inspection and testing techniques, including various types of sampling plans.
• Understands and applies various quality audit types and their components, tools, and techniques.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent; basic knowledge of quality requirements/practices/objectives; previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must have computer skills.
• Currently able to work with multiple computer programs and demonstrate as such – (Word, Excel).
• The candidate(s) will be given safety training as required by all employees, visitors and vendors.
• Additional training on defect recognition and other pertinent tasks will be provided.
• This job function requires the ability to remain standing for the majority of the shift, with some brief walking and sitting only during breaks.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
