Position Summary:

Quality Engineers are involved in all aspects of planning and executing the production of our wide range of space satellites systems and products. Our Quality Engineers provide technical knowledge & process capability expertise to improve internal performance. In this role you will be involved in all phases of quality planning, beginning with Contract Review, new product development, advanced manufacturing initiatives and continuing through production implementation. You will also be tasked with ensuring technical data packages are complete and accurate and that the customer technical performance meets the objectives of quality, cost and schedule. Additionally, you will help support design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities. Leverage your skills and talent to initiate continuous and measurable design and process improvement.

Job Qualification Requirements:

  • Communicate and translate technical data to engineering, production and customers
  • Define, communicate and verify inspection capability requirements
  • Engage to understand capability, capacity, opportunity and risk using Six Sigma skills
  • Ensure product and process capability across the value stream
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities within the manufacturing and quality systems
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Manage production requests for product and process changes
  • Manage product non-conformances; Drive root cause and corrective action
  • Proactively identify manufacturing, inspection risks and develop mitigation plan
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with “EOQP” (Engineering, Operations, Quality and the Programs) to drive performance to goals

Essential Job Functions:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required: Bachelors of Science/Bachelors of Arts in one of the following

Majors: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing

Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or 10yrs experience in related Engineering field

  • 6+ years’ experience to include experience in one or more of the following: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, system engineering, manufacturing & quality systems, technical supplier management, or Program/Production Management
  • Quality / Engineering interpretation of technical documentation
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team-based setting
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, industrial manufacturing or with products in the sub- technologies listed in the job description
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Strong GD&T interpretation, knowledge and application
  • ISO9001 / AS9100 fundamental knowledge
  • Expert Problem Solver, can drive root cause and corrective action
  • Microsoft Office Suites or similar
  • CMM Manager and Polyworks 3D scanning, including programming.
  • SPC, PPAP, APQP
  • Capability Studies, Gage R&R’s, MSE’s

Desired Experience, Skills & Education:

  • Master’s Degree in the following Majors: Business Administration, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,

Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science

  • Experience in Statement of Work (SOW) generation
  • 5+ years of experience interfacing and communicating with all levels within an organization as well as with a large external customer base
  • Experience with design and development of products that fall within the mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience supporting business and functional deliverables
  • Experience performing supplier assessments and qualification
  • Familiarity of Export/Import regulations
  • The ability to proactively anticipate and identify needs and expectations of department and integrate into work process
  • Dimensional Inspection capabilities using air gages, micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring equipment

*Must completed assessment test with CEI in order to complete the first step of the interview process*

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
