DTS is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support Electrical and Mechanical manufacturing and assembly for aerospace and defense manufacturing. Candidate will perform program quality planning, analyze program QA requirements, develop inspection/test procedures and process plans, finalize source inspection checklist, coordinate review of nonconformance documentation and support root cause/corrective action. Other key duties include reviewing AS9102 FAI documentation, working with customer and government (DCMA) quality assurance representatives, reviewing, and approving new drawings, supporting project managers during design, and manufacturing readiness reviews, and conducting supplier assessments and surveillance.
Basic Qualifications
The successful candidate will have 3 Plus years’ experience in quality engineering or 10 + years in quality under an AS9100 system. With a Bachelors Degree
The candidate must have extensive working knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System:
- The candidate must have experience working with assessing non-conforming material, performing failure analysis, and identifying and implementing corrective action.
- The candidate must have experience writing inspection/test work instructions.
- The candidate will have experience with evaluating suppliers to determine their capability to meet requirements.
- Candidate must have computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong personal organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with large team of people.
- Candidate must have extremely strong written and verbal communication skills and work with project managers, engineers, technicians and suppliers to ensure expectations of quality control requirements are known.
- Candidate must be able to review and interpret contract quality clauses and technical data and develop and document appropriate quality verification procedures, plans, and work instructions, including AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.
Some travel is required, typically no more than one week per month.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Other Qualifications
Experience with any of the following, lasers, power generation, Thermal Systems, electrical components, and assemblies is a plus.
Security Requirements
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
