Summary of Job Content:
Manage and lead the Quality Systems department in compliance with company and customer quality system and contract requirements. Provide a structured quality system for the company to assure compliance to customer. Government and regulatory requirements. Administer the ISO 9001/AS9100 business systems, quality functions in support of MRB, Corrective Action, and all Continuous improvement activities. Assist the Site Manager in the implementation of quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the development, implementation, and coordination of the division’s quality assurance systems to preclude nonconformance with customer, government, and regulatory requirements. Facilitate implementation methods and systems to prevent and eliminate defects related to new and existing products.
• Generate, analyze, and report quality trend data to the division management and operating units.
• Primary Customer, Government, and Regulatory Agency interface for quality systems and issues.
• Responsible for the company’s calibration system in support of all production and developmental testing requirements.
• Maintain the company’s Material Review Board (MRB), Corrective/Preventive Action System, QA Records & Archives, Document Control, and Calibration.
• Internal and supplier quality system audits and evaluations.
• Review of technical problems and procedures within the company and recommend solutions to issues and changes to procedures.
• Ensures quality activities, decisions, and actions conforms to technical policies and procedures as well as support the needs of customers.
• Execute developmental actions for quality staff to ensure adequate competency, including training, rotational assignments and performance management.
• Communicate and negotiate quality assurance concerns with other departments within the organization.
• Ensure processes and procedures comply with quality requirements.
• Act as customer liaison on quality issues and responds to customer complaints/field failure reports as required.

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Preferred experience with NADCAP, ISO Quality Systems and related quality systems.
• Experience in implementation of Lean Manufacturing, 6S and Six Sigma preferred.
• Computer Skills using Excel, Microsoft Office – Ability to create PowerPoint presentations, Excel Metric Charts, and write formal correspondence using Word.
• Understanding of health and safety rules/regulations.
• Requires good problem-solving capabilities.

Experiences:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or related technical degree or relevant experience.
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Quality Engineering in both commercial and government environments.
• Certification as an Auditor, or Quality Engineer, through American Society for Quality or International affiliate is an asset

Salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 and is commensurate with experience.
