Quality Engineer
Job description
Tottser-Iroquois Industries is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for our stamping and welding facility located in Middle Tennessee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit all customer PPAP packages to include all pertinent documents per customers’ requirements. Develop and maintain the PFMEA, Control Plans and Process flow.
- Develop Quality Inspection Instructions / gage instructions / receiving inspection and quality inspection check sheets.
- Review dimensional inspection data, prepare capability studies and Gage R&R s to insure a robust Quality process.
- Review and approve check fixture designs to customer GD&T.
- Review and analyze CMM layout reports, coordinate improvement plans based on the results
- Issue Quality Alerts for Internal and External Quality Concerns. Communicate and coordinate containment activities in the plant and at customer facility’s. Lead Corrective Action meetings, perform 5-Why analysis, 8-D’s. Verify countermeasures are completed and effective.
- Facilitate training related to quality and develop training material as required.
- Deal with customers and engineering on advanced quality issues and programs to provide direction where required.
- Participates and assists in all Audit activities.
- . Review and approve supplier PPAP Packages and follow up as required.
- Ensure compliance with customer specific requirements.
- Perform duties as requested or directed by Quality Manager
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Effective problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
- Ability to read blueprint drawings
- Computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
- Understanding of customer specific requirements as required.
